Understanding and Using the Weekly Manager Check-ins Activity: People Managers

Now that you and your team have completed your Weekly Manager Check-ins, it’s time to explore what the results mean and how to make the most of them. The Weekly Manager Check-ins Activity area lets you view your past responses, track patterns in your mood, progress, and readiness over time, and understand how these insights contribute to your overall development.

As a people manager, you can also track progress, and support development across your team. In the Weekly Manager Check-ins Activity area you have a clear view of engagement trends, performance insights, and wellbeing indicators, all in one place.

Accessing Weekly Manager Check-ins Activity

To view your Weekly Manager Check-ins data:

  1. Log into your Develop account and go to the Home page.
  2. Scroll down to the Weekly Manager Check-ins Activity section.
  3. Select a time frame to view data for that period.
    1. Past 7 days
    2. Past 30 days
    3. Past 365 days
  4. Use Previous and Next to move between time periods.
Key Metrics Overview

These metrics reflect check-in activity for everyone in your reporting structure, including you, your direct reports, and any indirect reports. If you do not have any people reporting to you, this will only show your check-in activity.

  • Check-in Completion (%): Percentage of employees who submitted their check-ins during the selected period.
  • Average Mood Score: Reflects overall sentiment and wellbeing.
  • Average Progress Score: Indicates how teams are progressing toward goals.
  • Average Readiness Score: Measures preparedness to achieve upcoming goals.

Celebrate and Support Sections

People appear in the Celebrate and Support sections based on:

1. AI analysis of their check-in responses (scored 1-10)

2. Organizational seniority (higher seniority = more visibility in these sections)

People with the highest combined scores appear first.

  • Celebrate: Highlights team member successes worth recognizing.

  • Support: Identifies team members experiencing challenges.
    • Click Here’s how you can support for suggestions on how to assist them.

Viewing Detailed Check-In Activity

Click View activity to see the history of your check-ins and those of your reports.

Completion tab

This can be filtered by time or you can search for a particular team member.

Each check-in includes several numeric scores. Here’s what they mean.

Overall score

This is the average of this user's mood, progress, and readiness scores this week.

Mood score

5 - Energized & Optimistic - Feeling highly motivated and positive about work. Ready to take on challenges.

4 - Generally Positive - Maintaining good energy and engagement. Some minor challenges but overall confident.

3 - Neutral/Mixed - Neither particularly positive nor negative. May have competing factors affecting mood.

2 - Somewhat Challenging - Experiencing notable difficulties. Energy and motivation lower than usual.

1 - Significant Strain - Facing serious challenges. May need immediate support or intervention.

Progress score

5 - Exceptional Progress - Exceeded expectations with multiple significant achievements.

4 - Strong Progress - Clear forward momentum with goals being met and some notable successes.

3 - Steady Progress - Moving forward at an expected pace. No major setbacks or gains.

2 - Limited Progress - Some movement forward but falling short of expectations.

1 - Blocked/Stalled - Little to no forward progress. Significant obstacles preventing advancement.

Readiness score

5 - Clear Path Forward - No significant blockers. Well-equipped to handle any minor challenges.

4 - Minor Obstacles - Some small challenges present but manageable with current resources.

3 - Moderate Blockers - Notable obstacles requiring attention but not causing critical delays.

2 - Significant Blockers - Major obstacles impacting progress. May need external support.

1 - Critical Blockers - Severe obstacles preventing progress. Immediate intervention needed.

Burnout risk

Users may be at risk of burnout if their overall or mood score falls below 3 more than twice in the last 30 days.

This flag is an early warning signal to help prioritize conversations, not a clinical assessment. Use it as a prompt to check in with team members, not as a performance judgment.

Turnover risk

Users may be at risk of turnover if they've been flagged for burnout more than twice in any 30-day period within the last three 90-day periods.

This flag is an early warning signal to help prioritize conversations, not a clinical assessment. Use it as a prompt to check in with team members, not as a performance judgment.

Celebrate score

9 - 10: Outstanding Achievement - Breakthrough result that significantly impacts the business or team. Could include landing a major account, solving a critical problem, or delivering a project with exceptional results.

7 - 8: Significant Win - Notable accomplishment that advances important objectives. Might be completing a challenging project, exceeding targets, or creating valuable innovation.

5 - 6:  Solid Progress - Meaningful advancement toward goals with positive results. Could include hitting regular targets, completing difficult tasks, or making improvements to processes.

3 - 4: Routine Completion - Expected progress on regular responsibilities. Maintaining steady performance or completing standard work requirements.

1 - 2: Initial Steps - Early stage work or foundation-building activities. Beginning new initiatives or learning new skills that will support future progress.

Support score

9 - 10: Critical Need - Urgent situation requiring immediate attention. May indicate severe burnout risk, resource crisis, major interpersonal conflict, or obstacles blocking multiple work streams.

7 - 8: Significant Challenge - Important barrier impacting wellbeing or productivity. Could include mounting workload issues, resource limitations, skill gaps, or emerging burnout signals.

5 - 6: Moderate Concern - Issues that are creating stress or slowing progress. Might include workflow inefficiencies, communication problems, or early signs of work-life imbalance.

3 - 4: Minor Issue - Manageable challenges worth addressing. Could include minor resource needs, small process improvements, or temporary workload increases.

1 - 2: Potential Concern - Early warning signs with minimal current impact. Situations worth monitoring before they develop into larger problems.

Click the team member's name, or ... and select View response summary to view the insights generated by Coach Bo for that person for that week.

Click ... then View profile to open the team member's profile page.

Email Reports tab

Listed here are all the reports automatically sent to you and any people managers in your reporting hierarchy.

Depending on your account's settings, you may be able to view the report emails sent to the managers who report into you (directly or indirectly). If you are not able to view these, chat with your Develop admin about changing this setting.

Click View Report to see a copy of the report that was sent.
