From Team Huddles to 1:1s: Elevate Your Leadership Game with Coach Bo
As a people manager, Coach Bo offers you:
✅ Insight to optimize your team's dynamics and performance.
✅ Invaluable support for conducting effective 1:1 meetings with your team members.
✅ Guidance to improve your management skills.

Laying the groundwork
✅ Ensure that both you and your direct report have completed the EPP assessment, or connected your results, if you took this as part of your application for the role.
✅ Consult Coach Bo regularly by clicking on the icon in the bottom right corner of the Develop app.
✅ Encourage your team to complete the Weekly Check-Ins and review the insights Coach Bo sends you.
Review your Team Personality Report
Open your Team Personality Report and click on Coach Bo in the bottom right.

Ask Coach Bo things like:
"What strengths does [“person’s name"] bring to this team? For this project [“describe the project”]
“How can I best use [“person’s name”] strengths and personality tendencies to give both them and the team with the best chance to succeed?"
“What’s something specific I can do to better engage or challenge the team [or a specific team member] this week given our team personality?”
Interpret your TEAMscan reports
Set a regular, recurring time to take your TEAMscan (if unsure, try quarterly or monthly).
After each TEAMscan:
Consult Coach Bo:
"What are our team's key strengths and challenges based on the latest TEAMscan?"
“How can we use our highest scoring areas more regularly? What’s a simple experiment we can try?”
"What specific experiments could we run this week to improve our lowest-scoring areas?"
Quarterly, from the team-level TEAMscan, review overall team progress with Coach Bo and set new development goals.
Study the Manager Guide
Before conducting 1:1 meetings, open Coach Bo from the Manager Guide for the specific direct report.

Launch one of the existing prompts with Coach Bo, or just directly ask (type in the chat):
"How can I best prepare for my 1:1 with [Name] today?"
Review your Weekly Check-Ins insights email
Each Monday morning, Coach Bo will send you an analysis of the insights it generated from your team's Weekly Check-Ins conversations. These provide:
- Priority Actions: a list of 3-5 actions ranked according to urgency. For example, issues blocking productivity.
- Individual Focus Areas: a breakdown of key focus areas for each of your team members. For example, what they need support with.

Before team meetings, ask Coach Bo for advice on addressing team dynamics or performance issues.
1:1 meetings
After each 1:1, reflect with Coach Bo:
"What could I improve for my next 1:1 with [Name]?"
